American a cappella group Straight No Chaser began in 1996 at Indiana University as a 10-piece vocal collective. After the group’s original members left the college, Straight No Chaser continued as a collegiate group (now known as Another Round) with new students as replacements. However, in 2006 a recording of the original group’s performance of "The 12 Days of Christmas", filmed in December 1998, went viral on YouTube. This led to the group reforming in 2008 after the CEO of Atlantic records, who had seen the video, offered them a five-album record deal. Since reuniting, the group has released four Christmas albums and four studio albums, as well as several EPs. Over the years, they have collaborated with many big names in the music industry, including Barry Manilow, Sara Bareilles, Phil Collins, Elton John, Jason Mraz, Dolly Parton, Seal, Rob Thomas, Stevie Wonder, and Kristen Bell. Their most recent release is 2020’s holiday album, Social Christmasing.
