After nearly SIX DECADES, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band finally signals the conclusion of their legendary touring performances with the “All the Good Times: The Farewell Tour.” The series sets up 25 cities to visit across the US, kicking off this spring before making its way to Indiana for a May 9th appearance at the Murat Theatre with guest singer Mae Estes!
The “All the Good Times” concert is exactly what it sounds like — a joy ride through NGDB’s tallest musical heights, heralded by their self-titled debut and milestoned by seminal records such as the Will the Circle Be Unbroken and its 2x GRAMMY Award-winning followup. Chase after “An American Dream” and follow your fellow fans in reliving these eras of revitalized and reinvented string harmonies, narrated by the act’s enduring on-stage catalog.
From Long Beach jug band revival to multi-awarded country troubadours, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band painted the genre’s ‘70s scene in broad folksy strokes and down-home streaks. This live music event will be in celebration of that very same sound, tastefully inspired by the works of classic string and bluegrass ensembles. Whether it’s through an iconic rendition of Jerry Jeff Walker's "Mr. Bojangles” or Billboard Country chart-toppers like “Fishin’ in the Dark,” “Long Hard Road,” and “Modern Day Romance,” our featured group’s sets will strike deeply, longingly, and unforgettably at the hearts of country lovers everywhere.
Country popstar Mae Estes will be the show’s special opening act, honoring the legends of pioneers like Dolly Parton and Kitty Wells with the rootsy and plain-spoken traditionalist style of her stone-cold hits, such as “Thinkin' 'Bout Cheatin'” and “Hell You Raised.”
“Playing our music for Dirt Band fans all over the world has been an incredible experience for us. The most important part of that has been the connection to our audience — that beautiful communal give and take is like nothing else,” the group shared in a statement.
“That’s the very spirit we’ll be celebrating as we head into our farewell tour. We’re really looking forward to seeing you folks. Good times will be had by all!”
