Kim Bendix Petersen, otherwise known as King Diamond is a Danish theatrical rocker who first rose to stardom as a legendary member of the gothic black metal outfit Mercyful Fate, before taking the leap into his highly successful solo career in the eighties. Known and loved for this “elastic falsetto, distinctive face-paint, occult learning, femur- and tibia bone-adored microphone stand, and seminal 1987 concept album Abigail,” King Diamond is one of the most legendary heavy metal figures to be born out of the late 20th and early 21st century.
