The Canadian comedian, TV personality, actor, and producer boasts an extensive career in TV. Widely known as a judge on "America's Got Talent" and a host of "Deal or No Deal", he's a familiar face in the entertainment biz. His success all began with a love for stand-up comedy. In 1978, he was a regular performer at YukYuk's comedy club chain in Toronto. Heading on a trip to LA, he performed at The Comedy Store and was subsequently hired to become a regular act. A producer sat down in one of his shows and saw great potential. He was booked for a couple of appearances in the comedy game show "Make Me Laugh". Later on, he ended up opening for David Letterman and landed roles in various films.
The man's journey through laughs is a wild ride. Comedy shows, film features, lead roles, game show hosting, competition judging, and many more in between, the man's gone through it all. We could go on and on about where he's starred in and hosted shows for, but that list's gonna far too long to share for now. Of course, this night is about Laughing Matters!
Beyond comedy and TV appearances, Mandel also takes into heart good causes. His charitable foundation "Breakout the Masks" helped provide equipment to Covid-19 health workers at the time. He also contributes to Bell's Let's Talk Day program which helps people with mental health issues. He also partnered with NOCD to help promote access to proper treatment for OCD and similar conditions. Taking these advocacies into heart, this man is a testament to the values of Laughing Matters. He isn't only out here to perform stand-up nights... he's also dedicated his life to helping those in need, those who are struggling, and those who need laughs the most.
