Attention all emo enthusiasts and orchestra fans! Witness a truly unique performance as the Emo Orchestra & Hawthorne Heights join forces this fall.
Alongside a full ensemble of talented musicians, the Emo Orchestra & Hawthorne Heights are coming to the Murat Theatre on Wednesday 25th October 2023.
Created by Ben Mench-Thurlow, the Emo Orchestra, combines emo anthems of yesteryear with a touch of sophistication.
“Our aim with Emo Orchestra was to create an all-inclusive experience that resonates with a diverse audience of music enthusiasts,” explains Mench-Thurlow. “This is a chance for early admirers of the emo genre to share the music we all cherished with the next generation, while ensuring it remains family-friendly. The addition of the orchestra introduces a fascinating texture and depth to these nostalgic classics, while exposing fans to musical instruments they may be less familiar with in a fresh setting. Likewise, lovers of orchestral music will enjoy their favorite elements with an exhilarating twist!”

Since forming in Dayton, Ohio, the quartet composed of JT Woodruff (Vocals, Guitar), Mark McMillon (Guitar, Backing Vocals), Matt Ridenour (Bass, Backing Vocals), and Chris Popadak (Drums), have disrupted the music scene. They have earnt two Gold albums including The Silence In Black And White and If Only You Were Lonely, and penned some of the genre’s most well known songs like “Ohio Is For Lovers,” “Saying Sorry”! And now they’re bringing a new show to town. The heavyweights are bringing emo hits of your youth with a touch of adult elegance.

Joining Emo Orchestra on the stage is the iconic Hawthorne Heights. If you haven’t already heard, they’re one of the biggest breakout successes of the new millennial emo-punk explosion! Both of their first two albums went gold and they’ve shown no signs of showing down with their explosive eighth studio album, The Rain Just Follows Me. Picture yourself vibing out to "Saying Sorry" which peaked at number 7 on the Billboard Alternative Songs Chart or some of their newest work that juxtaposes clean vocals and bright melodies with screams and brutal guitars.
Their lineup currently consists of JT Woodruff (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Matt Ridenour (bass guitar, backing vocals), Mark McMillon (lead guitar, unclean backing vocals), and Chris Popadak (drums, percussion).
The angst-fueled pop-punk band built their fan base on a demo recording and a string of self-booked national tours that saw them sharing the spotlight with industry titans like From Autumn to Ashes and the Descendents, and now they’re making a much awaited return with the legendary Emo Orchestra at the Murat Theatre.
Don’t miss the opportunity to see this unique duo light up the stage in Indianapolis. Mark your calendars, secure your tickets now, and get ready to create memories that will last a lifetime.
