This fall season, emo rockers are looking at a brilliant run of shows featuring the prolific titans of emo punk rock, Dashboard Confessional. The band, which was originally a solo project by singer-songwriter Chris Carrabba, has become one of the most prominent fixtures in the rock circuit. After two decades of excellent songs that wear their heart on their sleeve, the band is slated to deliver a monster outing with special guests Boys Like Girls and Taylor Acorn. Expect thrilling performances from these acts as they serve high-energy setlists and smashing hits. Dashboard Confessional will demonstrate their fantastic staples, ranging from classics like “Screaming Infidelities” and “Hands Down,” to new gems like “Heart Beat Here,” and “Here’s to Moving On,” among others.
This year’s setlist is anticipated to be a dynamic mix of new and old staples from Dashboard Confessional’s highly acclaimed catalog. Originally a solo project by Chris Carrabba, Dashboard made waves with the debut effort, The Swiss Army Romance. With just his guitar and voice at his helm, Carrabba belted out heartfelt tracks like “Screaming Infidelities,” “The Sharp Hint of New Tears,” and “A Plain Morning.” After the cult success of the debut effort, Dashboard Confessional has turned into a full-fledged band. Their subsequent efforts were all commercial successes, entering Billboard’s Mainstream and rock charts. In 2003, the band’s third album, A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar, reached number 2 on the mainstream chart and dominated the independent chart. The album became the band’s best-selling effort to date.
Punk rock powerhouse Boys Like Girls will also be showcasing their highly acclaimed efforts on this run. Last year, the band came out with their latest effort, Sunday at Foxwoods. The brilliant work follows the band’s string of chart-performing releases, including their self-titled debut album and sophomore album, Love Drunk, which topped the Rock chart.
Lastly, emerging artist Taylor Acorn will provide excellent support by belting out her new singles. She recently released “Gray” and “Greener,” two staples that will surely be in her dynamic setlist.
