Now, these incredible efforts all featured Adrian Belew and Tony Levin’s fantastic talents. This was the period when King Crimson explored the new wave and post-punk era. Working with founding member Robert Fripp and longtime drummer Bill Bruford, Levin, and Belew helped bring the band into their experimental period. For instance, Discipline was created to lay the foundations for post-progressive rock. The album resonated so well with listeners that influential music publication, Pitchfork, named listed it as one of the Top 100 Albums of the 1980s. Meanwhile, Three of a Perfect Pair is pretty much a masterpiece by Belew, who wrote all the lyrics and significantly contributed to the album’s music. The band’s work during the ‘80s has amassed its own following.
